Launched in 2011, the much touted work on the Chennai-Bangalore highway that runs through the three states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka is experiencing delays. This high-priority project, a 262 km long highway runs its course all the way from Hoskote and wraps up at Sriperumbudur. It is learnt that, of the three states, Karnataka is well-ahead in getting the formalities sorted out while Tamil Nadu is waiting for feasibility study reports. It has taken well-over seven years for the project to make headway following the Centre’s approval. The goal of this project is to reduce the travel time between Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
