According to TN minister P K Sekar Babu, the Kilambakkam bus stop would open shortly

It is anticipated that the new bus terminal at Kilambakkam, Chennai, would relieve congestion at the Koyambedu bus terminal. Contractors have been urged to finish the job as quickly as possible, according to CMDA Minister P K Sekar Babu.

The bus terminus at Kilambakkam in the state's Chengalpet district is now being built, according to Tamil Nadu Minister P K Sekar Babu, who added that the contractors have been urged to speed up construction.

"Four years will have passed since building on the Kilambakkam bus terminal first started. We conducted an inspection of the area and held a meeting with the department secretary and other authorities to discuss how to speed up the construction and what the fundamental needs of the general public will be once it is open, such as access to drinking water and facilities. Babu, the minister for the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), stated on behalf of the government, "We have directed the authorities and the contractor to complete the job as quickly as feasible based on the chief minister's directives.

Along with T M Anbarasan, Minister of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Babu was speaking to media as the minister of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

Sekar Babu highlighted that the new mofussil terminal on a large 88-acre property will be able to house roughly 2,285 buses while pointing out that there had been discussions regarding the potential for traffic congestion if the bus terminus was made accessible to the general public.

If the facility opens before Pongal, Babu responded, "We can try, but we cannot specify a date. The officials advised us of more fresh innovations that must be made at this endpoint even during today's inspection. Some of the factors contributing to the work's delay include the most recent flood and storm. Officials will routinely stop by the location to keep an eye on the situation. As soon as we can, we'll endeavour to make this terminal accessible to the public.

It is anticipated that the new bus terminal in Kilambakkam would relieve congestion at the Koyambedu bus terminal. According to Babu, the Metro line may be extended to the Kilambakkam terminal, and the department has already made a request to the Metro officials on their behalf. He stated, "The work for a feasibility study is ongoing.
